A Change of Heart
The world today seems overridden with concern for the heart and its diseases. Much is being done in the field of medicine to eliminate the problem by replacing one heart with another. And yet the vulnerability of the physical heart continues. Aren't people avoiding the real problem rather than solving it?
Christ Jesus had a safe, sure, immediate approach—a permanent remedy—for all ills.
In Christian Science, as Jesus taught, we go to the root of heart trouble and heal it, instead of exploring ways to exchange one piece of vulnerable matter for another. The healing is based on a realization that the cause behind any physical effect is mental. Just as surely as blushing is caused by a mental attitude, the flow of tears by a thought, and yawning by mental suggestion, so the heart reacts to the belief we hold about it.
