This testimony is long overdue, for I have received much help and many healings since first becoming a Christian Scientist. At that time I was receiving treatment in hospital for tuberculosis. The prognosis was not good, as my father and other members of my family had passed on at an early age with this disease. I prayed earnestly to know God and for a solution to the problem, and I knew that in some way I would receive the answer. It came from a friend who sent me a copy of The Christian Science Journal with the comforting assurance that I could be healed in Christian Science. I noticed that the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, was often mentioned in the articles, and I sent for it and commenced reading it. I shall never forget the joy that came to me when I read the first sentence in the Preface where Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." What hope and comfort those words brought me! I gave up all medicine and sought the help of a Christian Science practitioner.

The healing was not a quick one, and for this I learned to be very grateful. Each step of the way had to be demonstration. I had to live the truths I was learning, but all the time I was sustained and helped until my health was fully restored.

I have experienced healing of common colds, broken bones, dislocated shoulder, acute muscular rheumatism, and burns through Christian Science treatment alone, sometimes through the prayerful work of practitioners, and at other times through application of my own understanding.
