Words of Current Interest

The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on September 29, 1968.

The south (Gen. 13:1)

The Hebrew word thus translated is negeb, still used in modern Israel to identify the somewhat barren stretch of country to the south of Judea. Writing from the standpoint of Palestine, the Hebrews often used the term "Negeb" as a synonym for the south.

The Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land (Gen. 13:7)
