The Asking That Receives
Ask what thou wilt, but O, remember this,
We ask and have not when we ask amiss.
If weak in faith, we only half believe
That what we ask we really shall receive.Christian Science Hymnal, No. 390;
Christ Jesus demanded faith of his followers, and he related faith to healing. To the father of the child whom the disciples had failed to heal he declared, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."Mark 9:23; Then, "straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." The father saw immediately that it was his own lack of faith that needed to be healed.
