I should like to testify, with much gratitude, to the healing power...

I should like to testify, with much gratitude, to the healing power of Christian Science. About twenty-three years ago I started having trouble with my sight. I was employed in a business organization and found that I had great difficulty because everything blurred and many lights danced constantly before my eyes. I was seriously wondering whether I would have to resort to wearing glasses. Though I was constantly resisting the lie that a faculty of Mind can deteriorate and affirming the truth to the best of my ability, I had about decided that if I had to wear glasses I would do so.

At that time I attended the annual meeting of the Christian Science students' association of which I am a member. At one point in the meeting the teacher said, in effect, that there can be no chemical change in a spiritual idea. Instantly I saw that this was true. I said to myself, "Why, of course. Chemistry belongs wholly to matter, and I am not material. I am spiritual. This is simply the universal belief of chemical change, and there can be no chemical change in a spiritual idea." The healing was instantaneous, and I have not needed to resort to glasses.

About a year ago, while working on a report for which I had gathered figures and other information, I found that everything blurred to the extent that I could hardly read my own figures. When I closed my eyes, there was a definite pattern in front of one of them. After about three hours of this I found an opportunity to be by myself, and in prayer I found myself declaring, "This is not true. After studying Christian Science for years, my vision is clearer today than it has ever been in my life, and I gratefully acknowledge that it is."
