In October, 1965, my husband became very ill with jaundice
In October, 1965, my husband became very ill with jaundice. One evening, being unable to bear the pain any longer, he asked me to call a doctor. I did so very reluctantly. The doctor diagnosed a serious inflammation of the liver and ordered immediate transfer to the hospital. Late that night I took my husband there, where he was immediately given an injection.
The next day the doctors told me that my husband's illness was malignant and that he should be operated on at once. I immediately said quietly to myself, "God doesn't need an operation to help Him." My husband was in the hospital several days, and the doctors urged him again and again to allow himself to be operated on.
I visited him daily and spoke with him about the teachings of Christian Science. Despite the dismal evidence, I constantly saw him as God's perfect idea and told him he should joyfully look forward to healing through Christian Science. I knew that it would surely come.
