With gratitude I report the perfect setting...
With gratitude I report the perfect setting of a dislocated finger through radical reliance on Christian Science treatment. The initial reaction of shock at the time of the accident was quickly healed by the understanding I had recently gained through class instruction. I requested Christian Science treatment from a practitioner and was grateful for the loving support of my family in this decision.
I knew that it was not time but spiritualization of consciousness that was the element involved in healing. Disregarding the physical evidence, I endeavored to hold my thinking steadfastly in line with the concept of perfect God and perfect man as brought out in that week's Lesson-Sermon on the subject "God." This concept is spoken of by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 259), "In divine Science, man is the true image of God." And further on in the same paragraph we find, "The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration."
After several hours of concentrated study in a Christian Science Reading Room I left with such a sense of peace, joy, and harmony that I immediately telephoned the practitioner to thank her for the work that had been done, and rested the case there. From then on I went about my normal routine although the physical evidence was unchanged.
