Having recently enjoyed my one hundred and fourth birthday, I feel a great desire to express my gratitude for all the help and blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science during the past fifty years.

I first became interested in Christian Science, as did all my family, through the healing of my nephew during the 1914—18 war. He received very bad spinal wounds and was not expected to live; at best, the medical opinion was that he would never walk again. Through the loving prayers of a Christian Scientist he was completely healed and served throughout the Second World War.

I had always been rather delicate and subject to bad headaches, rheumatism, and indigestion. I wore plasters and took all sorts of potions and pills. As I studied Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I realized that it was the truth. One day I threw away all my material remedies and from that time relied entirely upon God's healing power as taught in Christian Science. All my aches and pains completely disappeared, and I have been active and healthy ever since, with never so much as a day in bed.
