The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on October 13, 1968.

A more literal rendering would simply be "seventy others," that is, in addition to the twelve apostles, and this is the translation preferred by the Revised Standard Version. The Master's choice of seventy men on this occasion is comparable to the selection of seventy elders in Moses' day (see Ex. 24:9)
