I have always been a student of Christian Science, and attended a Christian Science Sunday School until I was twenty years of age. While always relying on Christian Science to solve any problems, I did not put all its teachings into practice as I should.

When I was about twenty-eight, our home was in the country. We had three children and were happily married.

Thoughts kept coming to me that I was drifting. There did not seem to be any purpose for me. Then I knew that I must do prayerful metaphysical work, which I did. First I prayed to know that God's child is always in his right place because God is everywhere. He fills all space, and He loves and cares for every one of His children. I also had to overcome a great sense of loneliness. Mrs. Eddy's definition of "wilderness" in Science and Health, gave me light on the subject (p. 597), "Loneliness; doubt; darkness. Spontaneity of thought and idea; the vestibule in which a material sense of things disappears, and spiritual sense unfolds the great facts of existence." This was just what I needed.
