I attended my first Christian Science...
I attended my first Christian Science service in 1932. Upon the walls of the church I read these quotations: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32), and, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. p. 494).
The service itself did not impress me but these quotations made an indelible mark on my thought; I was very despondent since I was unemployed.
The following day I read the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health. The same day, several hundred miles away, my former employer wrote a letter asking me if I would care to report to another branch of his organization in connection with a position I later accepted. This was the beginning of continuous progress for me in demonstrating the truths taught in Christian Science.
