Through all the years that...
Through all the years that Christian Science has been my only physician, I have had innumerable proofs that divine Love meets the human need.
When I was growing up, there were few Christian Scientists in our city, and because I was a timid and sensitive young person, it required some courage on my part to be identified with the movement because I was afraid of being thought different. I never once doubted the teachings of Mrs. Eddy, a fact that enabled me to stand up and be counted when questioned about my religion. Timidity and sensitivity disappeared soon after my marriage as I outgrew a false sense of self.
Shortly before our third and last child was born, we moved to California. During the long car trip there, I clung to the spiritual import of Jesus' words (John 14:2), "I go to prepare a place for you."
