The Golden Kitten
[Of Special Interest to Children]
One September Susie was given a new kitten. It was an especially pretty kitten with fluffy golden fur. Susie loved it very much, and during the first few weeks that she had it, she taught it several tricks. Then one evening the kitten disappeared.
Susie's parents placed an advertisement in the newspaper for the kitten, but no one answered it. Susie and her friends looked all over her neighborhood for the kitten, but no one had seen it.
One night, several weeks after the kitten had disappeared, Susie's mother was tucking her into bed. Suddenly Susie began to cry and asked her mother what more she could do to find her kitten.
