Christian Science was first...
Christian Science was first brought to my attention by a friend who was working with me in the theatrical business. As we were rooming together, I noticed she read from a book called Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
She knew that I was suffering from bowel trouble and hemorrhoids and was trying unsuccessfully to find relief through material remedies. My friend told me I could he healed in Christian Science and recommended I go to see a practitioner, I followed her advice, and the kindly man explained to me that Science heals by revealing the truth of God and man. He asked me to study daily the Lesson-Sermon, provided in the Quarterly, and said he would help me.
One day on leaving his office after a subsequent visit, I realized my healing was complete, because I was free from pain and the hemorrhoids had dissolved. Since then Science has been my only physician. Members of my family have also been blessed by this religion.
