In all the years I have been a...
In all the years I have been a Christian Scientist I have experienced many blessings myself and have witnessed those of others. As soon as I was wholeheartedly willing to accept the teachings of Science, a gallbladder affliction vanished. Minor physical difficulties have often been overcome instantaneously through the application of Science.
When one of our sons was studying in a distant city, he received a deep cut in his forefinger from a splinter of glass. Because of the way the wound looked the next day, our son went to a physician, who said, after taking an X-ray picture, that a tendon was severed and that if a tendon transplant did not succeed, permanent stiffness of the finger would result.
Since the future career of our son depended on the perfect flexibility of his right hand, he asked, in his need, for Christian Science help. He knew something of the spiritual state of man and accepted it. A paragraph on pages 470 and 471 of the textbook by Mrs. Eddy was recommended to him for a thorough study. The paragraph reads, "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history." Through the understanding that "the relations of God and man . . . are indestructible," he was healed in a short time. The wound closed, and without an operation the complete flexibility of the finger returned.
