With sincere gratitude I should like to relate my healings of headaches and constipation, which I had been troubled with from early childhood. It seemed the difficulties grew up with me and became worse instead of being helped by remedies prescribed. Then I learned of a religion that followed the teachings of Jesus and of people who were healed through it. This led me to read the New Testament in the Bible more thoroughly. I did not know the religion by name until later, but I thought it must be wonderful. However, I was active in my own church and was happy there.

Then I married. My husband's father was a member of a church that followed Jesus' teachings, and I learned that his religion was called Christian Science. The members of his family were not Christian Scientists. My husband and I had two children. Then my husband became ill, experiencing constant pain in his head. It seemed he could not go on.

We did not have a family doctor; and since Christian Science had lingered in my thinking, I recommended he try it. Because his condition seemed worse, he said I should call a practitioner and see if he would come to the house. We had no telephone, but near neighbors had, and I knew they attended the Christian Science church. They were happy to help me.
