When I was a few weeks old a serious skin disease developed on my body. After months of patient nursing by my mother, I eventually recovered except that my skin was left dry, and an unsightly condition developed on my hands that must have been objectionable to those around.
My parents spent a small fortune on medical treatment to no avail, and I was ultimately given no hope of a healing by two eminent specialists.
Years later I became interested in Christian Science and experienced many healings from time to time through the study and application of this Science. In a halfhearted way I tried to know the truth in order to help the condition, which was gradually worsening, but, in fact, I was resigning myself to accept the inflammation and swelling, which was restricting the use of my hands and wrists, as permanent conditions.
