RADIO PROGRAM No. 93 - What Is the Relationship Between Thought and the Body?

INTERVIEWER: There is deep interest today in the relationship of thought and the body. The question of the nature of that relationship is brought out by a leading biologist, Edmond W. Sinnott, in his book "Two Roads to Truth." (The Viking Press, Inc., New York. Copyright, 1937.) He writes, "One of the great problems which has hung, unsolved, over philosophy through all the centuries has been the relationship between those two parts of man which seem so vastly different—his body and his mind."

Dr. Sinnott continues with this question: "These evidently have much to do with each other, but just how are they related?" We would be interested in the Christian Science outlook on this question.

SPEAKER: A well-known statement in Proverbs has a bearing on the answer. It says there of a man (23:7), "As he thinketh in his heart, so is he."
