Impersonal Judgment
"As long as error is able to provoke a response... personal sense is creeping into judgment"
A friend of ours once asked us to go to see some relatives of hers while we were on a visit to the country where they lived, and she drew us a sketch map to show us the way. When the time came to follow the map, we found that we had to make allowance for the fact that she had included more and more landmarks as she got nearer and nearer to her old home. So the scale of the map got bigger and bigger in order to get them all in.
