I have relied on Christian Science...

I have relied on Christian Science for healing since the late teens of this century, and have had numerous instances of its successful application.

One of these instances continues to unfold helpfully. Very suddenly, on a certain morning, my every step was accompanied by a sharp pain in one knee. By night the condition made even standing difficult and walking almost impossible. When no improvement was apparent in a few days, a Christian Science practitioner was called. Complete freedom came in about three weeks, each day bringing some progress.

The lesson I had to learn was that I must be humble enough to curtail my physical activity if my daily duties were being performed through human willpower rather than reliance on God, divine Mind. To encourage a better sense of right activity, the practitioner referred me to this sentence from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 84): "To understand that Mind is infinite, not bounded by corporeality, not dependent upon the ear and eye for sound or sight nor upon muscles and bones for locomotion, is a step towards the Mind-science by which we discern man's nature and existence."
