Church Dedications
The Ingham County News
Mason, Michigan (First Church).
Two dedication services will be held at First Church of Christ, Scientist, Mason, on Sunday, June 9. The first service will begin at the regular hour of 11. The added service will be at 4. Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free of debt. This freedom from building debt has been accomplished through the contributions of members and friends and a grant from the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, local officials of the church said. The public is invited to aid in observing the occasion by attending the ceremonies.
Christian Science had its beginning in Mason in 1897, when a small group met on Sunday evenings in a private home. Records show that such informal meetings were also held from 1905 to 1910. From 1915 to 1922, rooms in the Flanigan and Dart Building on East Maple Street were used for a place of worship.
