The True Spirit of Christmas
"The true spirit of Christmas is the unspeakable joy of spiritual sense being restored"
Christmas is a time for joy, because to Christians everywhere it commemorates the appearing in human experience of the man Jesus, whom the spiritually receptive of those times recognized as the Messiah of promise. He would bear witness to the Christ, the spiritual idea of sonship, and prove for all mankind the forever facts that Life is eternal and that man is the pure child of God. The prophet Isaiah discerned Jesus' mission and wrote of it (61:1), "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound."
