TO WATCH WITH LOVE
Matthew 26:40
To watch with Love one hour, Lord, would be
To have no consciousness of sin, to see
Beyond the darkness of corporeal sense
The radiant glow of Love's omnipotence.
To watch with Love one hour would be to know
The unreality of human woe,
To rise above this fleshly dream and find
Man the reflection of creative Mind.
To watch with Love one hour were depth and sum
Of hungering aspiration, Lord; to come
Before the presence of Love's healing power,
And in the silence of the sacred hour
Touch, as it were, my fingers to Love's hem,
And feel Love's holy hands outstretched to them.
