Since beginning the study of Christian Science over twenty years ago, I have had many proofs of its efficacy. Not only has it healed me physically, it has also dispelled many fears and given me a greater sense of security.

Not too long ago a disturbing condition manifested itself on one of my ankles. I was very fearful, and the condition grew worse until there was a painful and unsightly sore. Because of my fear, it was difficult for me to realize the unreality of the condition or to lift my thought above it; so the help of a Christian Science practitioner was obtained.

However, the condition did not yield readily, because there were lessons to be learned, including the overcoming of a fear that it might be hereditary; other members of my family had had the same condition at one time or another with serious results. It was necessary for me to realize and acknowledge that God is the only cause and creator; that He made all that was made and that He made it very good; that He made man perfect and that man, forever dwelling in the divine consciousness, cannot be touched by imperfection. It was also necessary to gain a clearer understanding of the Christ, and at the recommendation of the practitioner I began to study the references to Christ in the Concordances to the writings of Mary Baker Eddy.
