My work as a bus operator...

My work as a bus operator necessitated periodic physical examinations. After examining me a few years ago, the doctor told me that I had a heart condition called thrombosis. This, of course, was a great shock to me, and I was fearful and despondent. I was hospitalized for three weeks and then had to remain home for rest. After a few months a neighbor who was a student of Christian Science introduced me to this religion by lending me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

At first perusal, I could not accept its teachings on account of my former religious belief, but the book did hold my interest, and as I kept on reading I felt I was gaining a better understanding of God and man. I continued to read and gradually became confident that Christian Science was to be my treasure.

I asked for and received help from Christian Science practitioners at various times, and my newfound friends in Science helped me along the way. I am very grateful for all that they did.
