In Science and Health our beloved...

In Science and Health our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes (p. 136): "Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing. He taught his followers that his religion had a divine Principle, which would cast out error and heal both the sick and the sinning. He claimed no intelligence, action, nor life separate from God." For many years it has been my privilege to prove this repeatedly for myself and my loved ones.

Many years ago I was instantaneously healed of what was called an incurable disease after the physicians had given up all hope of my recovery. I had been ordered to a sanitarium, but as a last resort I called a friend in whom I had great confidence as a Christian Scientist. This friend advised me to select a practitioner from The Christian Science Journal and visit the one whom I would be led to choose. The worker upon whom I called opened my eyes to see the truth of the statement that Jesus' "religion had a divine Principle, which would east out error and heal." My healing took place nearly thirty years ago and has been permanent.

Human relationships have been adjusted, and where hate had seemed to reign for a long time, Love has wiped it out. Many years ago a misunderstanding arose between myself and a relative over a property settlement, and the feeling grew to such intensity that there was a severance of all friendly feelings. I never gave up the truth that Love heals, although I had been advised to let the situation work itself out and to forget it. I knew that one does not ignore error and held persistently to the truth that God heals. Finally I was rewarded for the untiring work and received an invitation to visit this dear one in a far-western city It was a glorious reunion and proved to me that there is no "life separate from God."
