THE BLESSING IS FOR ALL
Demonstration in Christian Science is never in favor of anyone to the detriment of someone else. Demonstration is proof that the demonstrator is conscious only of good specifically where evil has claimed to be. If, therefore, the demonstrator remains conscious of someone who is conscious of evil, which has been supposedly removed from the demonstrator's consciousness, then, in the sense of completeness, no demonstration has been made. But a demonstration of the consciousness of good is complete when the demonstrator is aware of its universal implications.
Demonstration sustains the proposition that God, the divine and only Mind, is the source of the consciousness of good and that man is that consciousness individualized. Because that proposition is sustainable, Christian Science demonstration is today making clear the fact that the progress of each individual toward complete consciousness of good has a definite relationship to the progress of every individual. Each individuality includes spiritually all individualities in its awareness of being, for each reflects the one divine Mind, God. Hence each individual is truly conscious of good only as he knows that all individuals are conscious of good.
This knowing is spiritual. It is the understanding of man conceived by divine Mind in terms of the nature of divine Mind itself, and it includes the realization that as each individual establishes his true status he contributes toward establishing the true status of all individuals. This is not to say that each is responsible for all, but that each is responsible for knowing himself completely, correctly, spiritually. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, puts it this way (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 206): "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all, as Jesus showed with the loaves and the fishes,—Spirit, not matter, being the source of supply."
