Dublin, Ireland (Second Church).
The dedication of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Dublin, on Sunday, April 3, 1949, recalls some interesting facts in connection with the history of Christian Science in this country.
In August, 1896, the Earl and Countess of Dunmore visited Lord and Lady Ashbourne in Dublin. Lady Ashbourne had known of Christian Science from her aunt. Mrs. Marjorie Colles. During their visit the Dunmores spoke to Lady Ashbourne and her daughters of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and they began its earnest study and started at once to do the healing work, which is an integral part of this religion.
