Bones reset by mental work. Second operation averted

Because of my increasing gratitude for Christian Science and for all the moral courage and spiritual vision contributing to its establishment and maintenance, I should like to give instances of the help it has been to my family.

I was nineteen when I first heard of this Science and was therefore able to go to a Christian Science Sunday School to discover more of its meaning. The impression of God as the only reality, cause, and power, as infinite Life, Truth, and Love, which I gained during those Sunday lessons, always stayed with me. I then went abroad, married, and for many years had only slight contact with Christian Science, although I continued the endeavor to practice for myself what I had learned.

When our youngest child was born, I had treatment from a practitioner, and a Christian Science nurse attended me. The birth was swift and practically painless. Shortly afterwards my husband met with an accident, breaking both bones of his right leg just above the ankle. His leg was operated on and set, but after some weeks the surgeon told him that it would never be the same length as his other leg unless a second operation was performed. This verdict was very depressing to my husband. He had been so impressed by the birth of our baby compared to those of our other children that he asked for Christian Science help, and this was given him by a practitioner. When the scheduled time for the operation arrived, the surgeon found that the bones were in place and my husband's leg was normal.
