Truth destroys fear for loved one's safety

I wish to express my gratitude for the understanding of God which Christian Science has brought to me. We find in Him an ever-present, never-failing friend.

On December 7, 1941, when reports reached us over the radio of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I knew that my only brother was there with the Navy. My first reaction was one of horror, but when I had had a chance to think things over, I thought, God is there and everywhere, and my brother is His child and is protected by Him. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help and slept well through the night, For the next ten days, until we heard that he was safe and unharmed, I clung to the thought that he was well because he was in God's care. I do not know what I should have done if I had not had Christian Science to sustain me.

I am grateful for the healing of a nervous breakdown which I experienced several years ago; for the overcoming of almost chronic sore throat; for the healing overnight of a badly sprained foot, and for a more harmonious home.
