Experiences in the Master's life teach basis of progress Spiritward
UNFOLDMENT AND REALIZATION
Since God is Spirit, unending Life, and is the source of all action, all unfoldment is spiritual. There is no limit to spiritual progression, and there is no instance of retrogression in the kingdom of God. God includes the universe. The creator is greater than the creation. Hence, His creation of divine ideas is sustained by His laws and encompassed by them. Man, as God's image, is embraced by divine Love; he lives within Life and is enfolded in all his ways by Truth.
God provides the ideas which He conceives with grace sufficient to sustain them. Christ Jesus, speaking to the woman of Samaria at Jacob's well, said that to whomsoever he gave water, this would be "a well of water springing up into everlasting life" (John 4:14).
Jesus grew in wisdom, proving as time passed that each step of the way Love enfolded him with love and Mind clad him in intelligence. Through his ever-developing understanding of God, good, and consequent overcoming of evil, Jesus had constantly wider opportunities to prove the supremacy of divine law over material beliefs. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 335), "Only by losing the false sense of Soul can we gain the eternal unfolding of Life as immortality brought to light."
