Home and employment found through taking stand for Principle

"As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, incorporates this statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 497) as the first tenet of Christian Science. In this book she reveals the true nature of God and man as it is logically presented in "the inspired Word of the Bible." For that revelation I am most deeply grateful.

The search for a practical religion which would demonstrate the all-power of good first led me to Christian Science. I had known of it for years without realizing its true nature.

It seemed as though the very foundations of my life were swept away when I left a land that was to suffer great tribulation, to go to another country. Here, for one year, I worked under most discordant conditions. Persistent mental work regarding the true nature of man, of employment, and of home was necessary. During this troubled period a Christian Science branch church was my haven. Finally I had to make a firm stand for Principle, which involved loss of my employment. Within a few weeks, during which I was spared all fear of the future, I had a happy home and completely harmonious employment.
