Over thirty years ago I was first healed in Christian Science. An account of this experience was published in The Christian Science Journal for October, 1940. For this wonderful healing I am ever grateful to God.

Soon afterward I was privileged to witness an instantaneous healing of a baby brother. One day the laundress left a cup of lye water on the wash bench. The next day the baby slipped out to the bench without anyone's seeing him and drank some of the lye water. Mother heard his screams and instantly took him in her arms. She called to me to take up the Bible or one of Mrs. Eddy's writings and read aloud the first words my eyes fell upon. I picked up the Bible and opened to these words (Mark 16:18): "And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them." At once the screaming ceased. Mother and I sang the words of Mrs. Eddy's hymn "Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4). Within a few minutes the little child dropped off to sleep. When he awakened, all signs of burns and blisters were gone.

In the intervening years the members of my family have had many blessings. Broken bones have been healed, also burns, scarlet fever, deafness, poor eyesight, heart disease, and St. Vitus's dance. Lost articles have been found. Grief has been healed. More recently I had two healings: the first of poisoning, fifteen minutes after a practitioner was called; the second of pneumonia, which was healed in two days after help was sought from the same practitioner.—(Miss) Millea W.
