OFF TO CAMP

[Of Special Interest to Children]

This was the great day for John. He was going to summer camp for the first time! John was nine years old and had never before been away from his family, but he had been waiting for this day for weeks.

Mother had sewn the last name tag on the last pair of blue jeans. Bathing trunks, tennis racket, hiking shoes—all John's camping gear— had been carefully packed, and each article on the list checked and rechecked. Now they lay in the front hall, ready for John to start on his first big adventure.

The morning had dawned bright and shining, and Mother went to John's room to wake him.
