Concerning Christian Science Wartime and Postwar Activities
[From a Christian Scientist in England]
A parcel sent by The Mother Church to practitioners over here arrived for me the other day, and I cannot tell you what a resurgence of gratitude and affection it impelled. I cannot help feeling how much Mrs. Eddy would love to know of her Church's tender solicitude for all its members in these testing times—and the parcels are such a sweet expression of this thoughtfulness.
I spent five and a half years in the British ATS, and am only recently returned to civilian life. It is a most wonderful home-coming to return to one's branch church and find within its organization free scope for the qualities of discipline, responsibility, and affection for one's fellows, which one learns in the Army—and the parcel from The Mother Church was like a blessing from a mother to ifs home-coming child.
