TRUTH'S OWN REASONING

When fear would gain the precincts of my heart,I reason thus: "Is this of God's intent?Nay, fear is not of God. He never meantHis child to suffer fear, nor does impartTo him the pangs of want or any ill. What earthly father would so scourge his son? Then, much less He, whose children every oneAre heirs to His own goodness, by His will."

And as I reason thus, my heart grows strongAnd fearless through this Truth's redeeming might.New peace and joy enthrone my thoughts, the frightWithin my heart is turned to praise and song.O Love that rends the tomb of hate and fear,Let Truth's own reasoning be ever clear!
