A Message to the Field from the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities of The Mother Church

Recent developments in the food parcel program have again broadened that work. It will be of interest to the Field to have the following information in order to gain a perspective on the work as a whole, or as it progresses in a single country.

The sending of packages to individual Christian Scientists was the first means that opened up to the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities of The Mother Church for getting food to Europe. Bulk shipments became possible later.

There are students of Christian Science in many countries. While the aid of this Committee is not confined to them, it does flow through them, principally, to as many others as can be served. An outstanding value of this type of distribution becomes evident when one sees that it precludes the necessity of turning over relief supplies to untried persons and organizations or setting up costly staffs. The officers of Christian Science churches and societies in the various countries make wise and trustworthy guardians for the administering of relief.
