Obedience Brings Blessings

Christ Jesus by practical demonstration taught that loving obedience to God's moral and spiritual law always brings a blessing. Today, Mary Baker Eddy through her discovery of Christian Science has revealed to mankind the divine Principle of Jesus' teachings, and has shown by example that through obedience to God's law every individual gains the right to claim this blessing with certainty of fulfillment.

We read in the twenty-eighth chapter of Deuteronomy of the blessings which shall come to all who listen to God's voice and obey His commandments. "Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store," reads the fifth verse. What comfort this promise brings with its assurance of the Father's loving care for everyday needs!

A student of Christian Science living in England, where labor shortages and stringent rationing of food and clothing prevail, found this promise literally fulfilled when she turned first to God and asked His blessing. Each day every needful thing was provided, and there was always something to share. Having a full-time job as well as a home to look after, she turned with complete trust to God, and the need for domestic help and assistance with household shopping was supplied.
