It would not be fitting if I did not express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. Beyond doubt, Christian Science is a most practical and demonstrable religion. This is being proved daily by countless numbers, and I hope that the following testimony will help others.

Before December 7, 1941. our business carried on its manufacturing operations in the Philippines. Obviously with the advent of the war our activities were brought to a sudden halt. For a while, all seemed very dark and quite appalling. But not for very long, because with the aid of a devoted practitioner a way was found out of this wilderness into the newness of Life.

The thought came to carry on our business by doing the work in our home city by means of local contractors. This went on for a year, but was not very successful. At this time, the senior member of our firm decided to retire and disband the business. This left me in a seemingly precarious situation. However, I knew that as a child of God I could not be dislodged, and the decision was made to carry on alone. Friends and well-wishers kept saying, "You cannot get a location at which to work, nor machines, nor workers, nor necessary materials."
