In reviewing my experiences since I became a student of Christian Science, I realize with much gratitude that I only really commenced to live from the time there dawned in my consciousness the realization of man's at-one-ment with infinite Life.

It was during my initial awakening to this great truth that I experienced a major physical healing. This occurred more than fifteen years ago and resulted from my own study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

A serious stomach disorder which had troubled me for years had not been healed, but had grown worse under medical treatment. I had persevered with allopathy, homeopathy, autosuggestion, rigid dieting, physical exercises, and kindred processes, to the point of exhausting my faith in them. I had become irritable, despondent, and cynical, and the future seemed to hold nothing but chronic ill-health. It was while I was in this frame of mind and ill in body, that a friend lent me a copy of Science and Health.
