A Christian Science lecturer jolted my complacency recently with the statement that Mrs. Eddy made no provision for silent testimonies in the Manual of The Mother Church. I realized that, although I have been the recipient of the blessings of Christian Science for nearly twenty-five years, I had never contributed anything to the Christian Science periodicals, from which I have received countless blessings.

I can never be grateful enough for the chapter on Prayer in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, because it was through reading this chapter that I was healed of misunderstanding of and prejudice against our Leader. There was also planted in my consciousness an abiding conviction that "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26).

Shortly after this awakening the first of three children was born, but I did not rely on Christian Science at that time because of my ignorance of its teachings and because there was no Christian Science practitioner within miles of the part of Texas in which we were living. The first time I sought the healing power of Christian Science was for this baby when she was about three months old. I asked for help from a practitioner, and the healing was instantaneous. This so amazed me that I began to study the Lesson-Sermon, and I have relied entirely on Science ever since.
