This testimony is offered in sincere and humble gratitude to God for the manifold blessings that divine Love has bestowed upon me through the years.

More than anything else, I can say decisively that I have proved the truth of our Leader's prophecy in her chapter on Prayer (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, pages 1 to 17, especially page 13, lines 16 and 17) that a desire which is cherished honestly, earnestly, and humbly is absolutely certain of its answer. Time and time again I have found that to be true. The answers have come in many different ways, but especially through the hymns. The following is but one instance.

Very early in the period of London's blitz I arrived home one evening when it was already dusk, to be told by my wife that I was needed on watch at our church in Westminster. After packing some food I went straight to the church, and arrived when the bombing had already started. As I stood in the church taking off my outer coat, a heavy bomb crash caused the silent appeal, "How am I to think now, Father?" Before the appeal was formulated in conscious words, the answer came like a trumpet blast in the words of a hymn,
