I am very thankful for Christian Science, and am writing this testimony hoping it may bring to someone a measure of the joy and comfort that this Science has brought to me.

At one time it seemed as if life was just one disappointment and sorrow after another. I tried very hard to care for and guide my family in the right way but the task seemed too hard for me, and this, together with ill-health, made living almost unbearable.

I had been under a doctor's care for eight years, but at the end of that time I was in a worse condition than before. I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, suffered merciless headaches for days at a time, and almost continual backache, constipation, and stomach trouble. The doctor had told me my heart was so weak that the taking of a laxative might prove fatal. Finally, my system was so filled with poisons that the doctor ordered me to bed for a month. Running sores appeared on my arms and legs. One night when conditions seemed, much worse than usual, I received very bad news, and torn between the illness and sorrow I turned completely to God.
