Choose the Best

[Written Especially for Young People]

"Earth has not known another so great and good as Christ Jesus. Then can we find a better moral philosophy, a more complete, natural, and divine Science of medicine, or a better religion than his?" asks Mary Baker Eddy, the beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, on page 221 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany."

The answer is self-evident. But perhaps it is why we sometimes hear such remarks as. "Oh, had I only been in Christian Science when I was young!" or, "Could I have had instruction in the Christian Science Sunday School, how much trouble, how many difficulties, would have been spared me!" Young people reared in this religion of Christ Jesus are often envied by those who before becoming acquainted with Christian Science, have had a different religion, or none at all, and a material medicine and human philosophy.

Sometimes, however, young people who have had this privilege wander away from Christian Science. When young men and women leave their homes and are far from the loving care and counsel of parents, teachers, and friends, they especially need a reliable guide near at hand, because then for the first time in their lives they are mingling with those from all walks of life, with different social and religious backgrounds.
