Christian Science Committee on Publication for North Dakota Reports

The Christian Science Monitor continues to be made available to newspaper editors on a plan whereby a subscription is given in exchange for advertising in their paper equal to the twelve-dollar yearly rate. More than a majority of newspapers in the state take advantage of it, including the dailies.

Lesson-Sermon excerpts, consisting of the subject, Golden Text, a Bible citation from one section and from the same section a correlative statement from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are being sent out to thirty-five communities. They reach newspaper editors, some direct and others through Assistant Committees, and are being used with pleasing regularity despite the economy of space necessitated by the war effort and by newsprint shortages.

Constructive news items are sent out by your Committee on special occasions. The news release on the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church last June was carried in six of the eight daily papers in the state, and in twelve weekly papers. These eighteen stories totaled one hundred and twenty-seven inches of newspaper space.
