Since taking up the study of Christian Science in 1927, I have become free from many physical discords, such as the need of wearing glasses for reading and fine work, indigestion, colds, and chronic sore throat. This last condition troubled me through the winter months. Physicians had advised my parents that the removal of my tonsils would eliminate the trouble. The tonsils were removed, but it made no difference in the condition of my throat, and not until I began studying Christian Science was I free. No specific work was done, but I realize now that, through the unfoldment of Truth in my consciousness, fear of the trouble disappeared.

My first healing came while I was reading the textbook. I was ill with a sick headache and felt very much like going to bed, when the thought came to me, "Now is the opportunity to prove Christian Science." I read for less than an hour, when I found I was free from pain and nausea. There has been no return of this condition. Friends had expressed their sympathy for me many times, saying, "It is too bad that you are going to suffer as your mother does." I have been grateful for this healing, for it proved to me that the so-called law of heredity is not a law. The only law governing man is God's law, which is good.

Previous to the birth of our daughter, I studied the Bible and our Leader's writings and experienced little illness. The birth was quick and harmonious, and a week later I was able to go out.
