"They shall abundantly utter...
"They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness." I am one of many witnesses to the healing, regenerating power of Truth, as taught in Christian Science.
It was through the healing of an inveterate smoking habit that I was enabled to become a member of a Christian Science branch church, and I should like to relate this experience. I had become so interested in divine Science and so felt its helpfulness that I desired to join the branch church I was then attending. Obtaining an application blank, I eagerly prepared to answer the questions thereon, but the one asking whether or not I used tobacco could not be answered acceptably. I strove to overcome the habit, and soon thought I had succeeded, for I refrained from smoking for some time. The above-mentioned question was answered in the negative, and the questionnaire turned in.
However, before the date set for my personal interview by the board of the church, an adverse circumstance occurred in my family which greatly disturbed me, and I foolishly returned to cigarette smoking, believing I derived some comfort from it. Therefore, when I appeared before the board for my interview, I had to say that the habit had not been overcome. The examination ended, and I was dismissed in a very kindly manner. At the door I turned and said, "Don't let me go." A member of the board replied, "God will not let you go."
