Christian Science has brought...

Christian Science has brought me many blessings. It has been lived in my home for almost as long as I can remember, and one of my greatest blessings has been the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. I have been so happy to know that "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way," as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 454), and to recognize the government of divine Mind all through school and college days.

I am grateful for the many opportunities I have had of proving that Christian Science heals sickness and sin. On one occasion I fell on my wrist during school sports, and since the authorities thought it was fractured I went immediately to a Christian Science practitioner, who commenced treatment, and who reminded us that because [ was under sixteen the law required me to see a doctor. Accordingly the wrist was X-rayed, and the arm strapped up, for the picture showed a crack in the bone. I held to (he fact that "bones have only the substance of thought which forms them" (ibid., p. 423), and I knew that my work was to associate myself with infinite consciousness. In less than a week the swelling had gone down and the plaster was removed, for the wrist was completely healed and ready to be used normally.

Scarlet fever, mumps, measles, influenza, and a sprained ankle, as well as difficulties in human relationships, acute imagination, and fear of evil, are among the troubles which have been healed. The last-mentioned difficulty was overcome as a result of attending a Christian Science lecture. The lecturer said that she would give us three words which had helped her many times; they were, "Trust God more." I knew then that I could not fear any more, for to be afraid was certainly not trusting God. This brought great release, and I rejoiced in new freedom. This simple command, obeyed, has ever since meant more to me than I can say.
