I am very grateful for Christian Science,...

I am very grateful for Christian Science, grateful to God for Mrs. Eddy, who was so courageous and unselfish in her efforts to give the truth to mankind. It is a joy and privilege to tell of the constant help received from the study and application of Mrs. Eddy's writings.

I witnessed a complete healing of diphtheria in just a few minutes. One evening a little daughter was taken with what appeared to be pneumonia. The condition was quite alarming, and a practitioner worked most of the night. About five o'clock in the morning the child began to show signs of improvement, and was laid down for the first time. By eight o'clock she was sitting in her swing and the healing was complete. These healings prove that "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword."

I am also very grateful for a healing our son received of a diseased condition of the ankle bone, caused by a bruise. This was not a quick healing, indeed it took a great deal of patience and courage on the part of both myself and my son. During this experience there was no suffering, and he did not lose any time from school, nor was he denied any of the activities enjoyed by a boy of twelve. The diseased portion of the bone came out through the skin, proving what Mrs. Eddy says on page 463 of Science and Health: "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." We were told that under medical treatment the bone would have been scraped and the leg put in a cast, and that even then it was doubtful whether the condition was curable.
