To the Man or Woman in Uniform

When the greatest man who ever trod the globe was interrogated by the judge before whom he was arraigned, he answered, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I might bear witness to the truth."

Are you not here for the same purpose? You are on earth to play the part of a man. You will do it. Millions the world over are staying up your hands. Those who cannot share your lot in the camp or at the front are with you in spirit. They believe in you, they pray for you, they honor you as you honor the patriots who have lived before or who struggle with you now.

Suddenly your civilian career has been interrupted. You may wonder what all the turmoil is about. Perhaps you argue that you had nothing to do with stirring up the world conflict. Possibly your parents insist that you came not into this world to engage in war.
